Friday evening welcome and orientation; Saturday morning after enjoying a gourmet breakfast we plan our menu and go shopping to the nearby Farmers Markets.Saturday afternoon you will learn how to create a gourmet 3-course dinner from scratch (approx. 6 hours) ….and then enjoy your creation!  On Sunday morning we will top up your weekend with some secrets how to make your own infused oils and herb pastes (which you will be able to take home!).

 

Born in Wiesbaden, Germany, Chef Ullrich is a European-trained Master Chef and has 30 years of diverse experience in high-end hotels and restaurants.

After he apprenticed in Frankfurt, Germany, he completed the Hotel Management School in Heidelberg 1981 and was certified as restaurateur with trainer licence. His Master training in the classical French cuisine soon motivated him to open his own French Restaurant in Wiesbaden, Germany, which he successfully operated as Chef-Owner for 10 years. He then took over the Executive Chef position in the Mitsubishi Company Restaurant for over 300 employees and the Casino for special international guests.
He and his family moved to Canada in 1995. While working as Chef Instructor for the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts in Vancouver, B.C. he discovered his passion for teaching and passing on the skills he acquired over the years. His enthusiasm was always highly appreciated by his students. Now he decided to start organic farming to support his flavourful recipes based on the French Country Cuisine.

Chef Ullrich strongly believes in getting back to basics — knowing where and from whom food comes from. Building partnerships with local farmers and producers is also very important to him and he will include that in the everyday operation of his business.
